COGEM  issues advisory reports, topic reports or research reports. In addition, once every few years, a trend analysis of biotechnology is made by COGEM in cooperation with other commissions on biotechnology.

COGEM organizes both symposia and workshops. COGEM aims at organising at least one symposium a year. In addition COGEM can organise smaller workshops or hearings on specific topics.
