These are the projects COGEM is currently working on. Research projects are performed by third parties. The date is the estimated date at which the project will be completed.

  • 21.05.2012 | Post-market monitoring for GT73 oilseed rape

Recently, COGEM considered import and processing of GT73 oilseed rape and concluded that a definitive opinion could not be given due to the abscence of the post-market environmental monitoring (PMEM) plan. Now, the PMEM plan for GT73 oilseed rape has been made available. COGEM has therefore been asked to advise on the plan and to finalise its opinion on import of GT73 oilseed rape.

  • 31.05.2012 | Algae and genetic modification

A number of companies and research institutions, mainly outside Europe, is involved in genetic modification of algae to increase production of certain components. It is expected that these developments will eventually also occur in Europe and the Netherlands. The COGEM therefore commissioned a project with the aim to develop a sound knowledge base on GM-algae to prevent unnecessary delays in the granting of permits for the use of GM-algae in the Netherlands.

  • 12.06.2012 | Import of oilseed rape MON88302

COGEM has been asked to advise on import and processing of oilseed rape MON88302. This GM plant expresses the CP4 EPSPS protein from the FMV/Tsf1 chimeric promoter. The promoter results in optimal expression in plant tissues. CP4 EPSPS protein will provide tolerance towards glyphosate containing herbicides.
